How it works
The holdall smartcard holds tickets and money for travel on different bus services. Choose what tickets you would like to use and top-up your card when you need to. Take a look at what's in a holdall.
If you ordered a new holdall smartcard it will be posted to you and should arrive in five to ten working days. If you bought a prepaid Park and Ride or Fusion ticket when you ordered the card, it will be ready to use when the card arrives.
To top-up tickets on your holdall, go to “My Account” and choose “Tickets” from the menu. Choose the ticket you want and click “Top-up ticket”.
Tickets purchased online before 9pm will be available for use on the bus the following day. This allows time for the machines on the bus to receive a nightly update.
Each night the website sends out a new top-up message to all of the buses. When you present your card to a ticket machine or help-point, your new top-up will automatically be added to your card.
Each time you use your holdall on the bus the ticket machines record the transaction. Each night, the bus companies network their ticket machines and send the day’s transactions back to the holdall and sQuid websites. The next day you can see the transactions in your journey history.
Please Note: there is currently an issue with the smart ticketing system which means that balance and history information is currently unavailable.
